Composed of three different lots, this property includes a new single-family home, a barn and beach cabin. In addition to the lot consolidation, the new house was built as close as possible to the beachfront and the existing private road was relocated away from the house and lake with the purpose of increasing privacy and creating a new two acre meadow. The summer house is organized around a large central gathering room with bedrooms overlooking this central space.

Originally constructed as the Lake Sunapee Yacht Club, this structure was converted into a residence many years ago. Using old black and white photographs of the Yacht Club, this complete redesign and reconstruction of the building sought to bring many of the original details and character of the old club. The second floor is one large room, presumable this was the gathering area for the club. Here, the original fireplace and chimney were restored on the land's end at the house. At the lake end of this large room, the wall was replaced with a set of folding doors that completely collapse to one side, opening the entire room to the porch and lake beyond.

Located on a high stone outcropping, the North Shore home had over the years gone through a series of poorly conceived additions and remodeling. Its spectacular site and the original stone structure -- "The Music Building" -- provided the inspiration for the complete re-organization, renovation, and addition to new home. Included in the work was a new swimming pool with retractable walls and ceiling, new stone terraces made from stone at the site, three-car garage, and so on.

This new summer house sits on a small sloping site overlooking Rockport Harbor, Maine. The first floor has a double-height space above the dining area, connecting with the upper volumes of the entry stair, bridge, and sleeping porch. The sleeping porch is recessed into the south face of the house and used interior and exterior windows to help bring light and breezes through the back of the house.
